Role Overview
As a Language Editing Trainee, you will be responsible for editing manuscripts to ensure they meet publisher standards for grammar, style, and clarity. This role involves working closely with manuscripts, making detailed edits, and occasionally reviewing and providing feedback on copy-edited content.
Key Responsibilities as Language Editing Trainee
- Editing: Refine manuscripts for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and clarity.
- Conformity: Ensure manuscripts adhere to specific publisher style guides.
- Reviewing: Provide constructive feedback on manuscripts copy-edited by other trainee editors.
Preferred Candidate Profile: Language Editing Trainee
- Educational Background: Degree in a science-related field (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or English.
- Skills:
- Strong written and verbal English skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word.
- Keen attention to detail and a passion for reading and editing.
- Personality Traits: Enthusiastic learner with an interest in language editing.
