Educational Qualifications (As of August 1, 2024)

The minimum educational requirement for the SSC CGL 2024 exam is as simple as a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institute. However, specific posts may require additional educational qualifications. 

Age limit 

The age limit required for the SSC CGL exam 2024 is not the same for all. It varies from category to category. Here’s a breakdown for you to make it simple 

General Category: The age of the candidate must be between 18- 21 as of on August 1, 2024

Reserved categories: A relaxation is provided for the candidates belonging to the reserved categories like, OBC, ST, SC, ex-servicemen and other people categorized by the government.

Citizenship 

Just like most government exams, the candidate should be an Indian citizen.

For which positions the exam will be conducted?

The SSC CGL 2024 Exam will be conducted for the following subordinate services:.

1. Assistant in Ministries/Department, Attached and Subordinate Office of the Government of India.
2. Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant
3. Inspector of Income Tax Research Assistant
4. Preventive Officers in Customs, Complier in Registrar General of India
5. Inspectors of Central Excise & Customs
6. Tax Assistant in CBDT and CBEC
7. Examiner in Customs
8. Accountant/Junior Accountant
9. Auditor Offices under C&AG, CGDA, CGA & Others
10. Sub Inspectors in Central Bureau of Narcotics & CBI
11. Divisional Jr. Accountant, Jr. Accountant, Auditor & UDCs in various officed of the Government of India.

Exam Process for SSG CGL 2024

The exam requires a three tier comprehensive process:

• Tier-I (Computer Based Test): This online exam  is designed to test  your knowledge in Quantitative Reasoning, Reasoning & General Awareness, General English, and Computer Awareness.
• Tier-II (Mains): Unlike the first tier,this is a paper pen pattern exam. The  exam focuses on Mathematics, Statistics, English Language & Comprehension, and a subject specific to the post you applied for (e.g., Finance & Accounts for Assistant Audit Officer).
• Tier-III (Descriptive Test): This offline examI is conducted to examine your writing skills in English or Hindi.
